I’ve been helping adult Learners to acquire knowledge about technology for many years now. It all came about quite by accident. While my children were young, I was working part time at our public library. This was well before the “Internet era.”
We purchased and were trained on an online book-ordering system. Some of my colleagues were unsure how to use the system post-training. I began to share some “how-to” tips with them. And as personal computers became more prevalent, I continued to provide guidance to co-workers and friends on the use of various software packages.
As the children got older, I began consulting, and when they went off to college I earned a graduate degree in Instructional Design.
That led to a stint for several years as the Emerging Technologies Specialist at what is now The Center for Communication Enhancement at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Instruction has evolved since then, and learning now often embraces eLearning. Three of the eLearning tools I work with are Camtasia Studio®, which is a TechSmith® product, and Storyline® and Articulate® Rapid E-Learning Studio, which are created by Articulate®. Both are excellent eLearning development tools that can be blended together or used separately.
Throughout my consulting career, clients have applauded my strength in translating complex concepts into nontechnical terms. So, that’s a bit about me. You can learn more by going to my LinkedIn® Page and by following me on Twitter.
